Welfare & Finance Lasting Power of Attorney Mediation

The use of mediation in these situations, often disputes between adult-children where an agreement cannot be reached over whether the parent should move into care accommodation or how the family wealth should be divided, allows a less confrontational approach, while at the same time the parents can be consulted without openly choosing one child or the other due to the confidentiality of the procedure

It allows a consensus which all parties find acceptable going forward. As all the children care for their parents but sibling rivalry has come between them, the mediator can find the common ground and it is then surprising how quickly the other areas of dispute can be resolved.

Mediation also allows the family to patch up their differences and leave as friends rather than bitter parties after years of litigation.
