Mediation for elders with full capacity

Elder disputes

Elder people prefer to resolve disputes through the more relaxed atmosphere and conciliatory process of mediation rather than the adversarial and confrontational approach of going to court.

They may not have time to go through the litigation process and if it is a case of a dispute between their children they will not want to take sides.

It is possible to resolve any dispute but the type of areas that will be typical are:

  • Distribution of wealth
  • Provision of care
  • Residence
  • Inheritance issues
  • Social care decisions
  • Conflict with care providers
  • Treatment decisions
